Calling for Lockdown Stories

  • July 10, 2020
Help create the 'Make Your Garden Grow' video project about our community
PDF Download

In what ways have you seen community ‘grow’ over the lockdown period?

Tell us how, in under 250 words, and/or send us a photograph that makes your point in picture form.

We will use your photos and stories to accompany a video that we are making of the final chorus of Leonard Bernstein’s operetta Candide ‘Make Our Garden Grow’. Based on Voltaire’s eighteenth-century philosophical short story of the same name, this is a song not just about gardening but about community building, about ‘give and take’ with each person contributing what they can to build a sense of place that sustains all who live there.

Who can take part?

Anyone can.

How can I/we take part?

Go to the website below and look at Resources /Make Our Garden Grow to have a look at the online resources – play or sing a part – send us the video and you are in! https://welcomeinn.space/?page_id=75

Where will the video appear?

We will put the video on Youtube and on the project website (the same one where the resources are kept).

We have prepared a series of guides, along with some resources to help you take part should you wish.
