Newsletter 3 25th May 2020
This Newsletter has been produced by the Petersfield COVID-19 Network. It is intended to help and inform Petersfield residents, especially those who are unable to leave their homes because of Government restrictions.
If you have information which would be of benefit to other residents in Petersfield please contact Romsey Mill with details and we will consider using it in future newsletters.
If you know someone who would like to receive the paper version of this newsletter, please ask them to contact Romsey Mill via phone or via post: Romsey Mill Centre, Hemingford Road, Cambridge CB1 3BZ (you do not need a stamp if you add “FREEPOST CB1067”) or call 07933 671101.
Romsey Mill can also offer assistance by putting you in contact with volunteers who can help collecting shopping and medication. In addition, Cambridge City Council has set up the Cambridge Hub. The Hub can be contacted on 01223 457000 and supports all residents by responding to requests for help.
Testing for Coronavirus
The main symptoms of coronavirus are
- A high temperature
- A new, continuous cough
- A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
If you have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), you can ask for a test to check if you have the virus. This is called an antigen test. Call 111 to ask for a test.
Mental Health Awareness Week
Last week was Mental Health Awareness Week and this year the theme is all about kindness. Lifeline Plus – a mental health and wellbeing helpline for people aged 18 and over living in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, is available Monday-Friday between 9am and 2pm via freephone 0808 808 2121.
Help with research into how the pandemic has affected people by completing the survey at www.tinyurl.com/y7cpbmh2.
The Cambridgeshire Libraries.
You can sign up to Cambridgeshire Libraries online at no cost if you are a Cambridgeshire resident and enjoy access to thousands of e-books, e-magazines, e-newspapers, audiobooks and other online resources. Find out more at: https://tinyurl.com/vcu7oca
Food Parcels
Some areas of the city have reported an increase in people requesting help as their government backed food parcels have stopped unexpectedly. This is due to a process of re-assessing people’s medical risk to covid-19.This should not affect eligibility for a supermarket priority delivery slot or any slots you already have in place. However if you are in difficulty, please contact Romsey Mill on 07933 671101 or the Cambridge Hub on 01223 457000
